MATLAB License Renewal 2016

Posted on: April 27th, 2016 by Brian Hopkins

The University of Mississippi’s MATLAB license has been renewed effective immediately. To see this change you may need to update the license on your computer(s).

To reactivate an existing “Designated Computer” installation of MATLAB (ie, MATLAB installed on one computer under a specific person’s name), first make sure the computer is connected to the Internet. (Any Internet connection will work; you do not have to be on the campus network.) Start MATLAB, then choose Help->Licensing->Update Current Licenses. Choose “License 585993: Total Academic Headcount Campus – TAH Designated Computer”. Follow the onscreen prompts. If prompted to do so by your operating system, allow MATLAB to access the Internet. Restart MATLAB for the changes to take effect.

Lab computers that check out “Network Concurrent” licenses from the UM MATLAB server on cypress should not need to be reactivated. The license server has been updated for the new year. Simply restarting MATLAB should clear any messages you may be receiving about impending license expiry.

MCSR thanks the participating University offices that contribute funds to make this important software available to the UM community: the School of Engineering; the National Center for Physical Acoustics; the McDonnell-Barksdale Honors College; the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs; the Department of Mathematics; and the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
